Tragedy struck this little town of mine and I have been walking around in a daze ever since. I have not been able to do much and find myself with a little grey cloud hanging over my head for the past 4 days. My friends lost one of their loved ones and my heart just hurts for them. My hearts is hurting for all of the victims. I am at a loss of words. Who really knows what to say when things like this happen? This community has come together and created a makeshift memorial to remember the lives that were lost. My family and I paid our respects, left some flowers, hugged some strangers and cried a lot of tears. It is just surreal.
Heaven is a little richer today…
… but our hearts will be hurting forever.
I will give my best to help remember those that we lost.
For my kids, Dr Seuss’ birthday is an international holiday. Quite honestly, I think it should be… Ae was convinced that Jason would have the day off of work (alas, it was not so). We had planned to go to the book store and pick out a few new books to read, but we had a slight car-malfunction in the morning and the car ended up at the shop (and our wallets were hundreds of dollars lighter :/ ). But we tried to make the best of it, invited a friend over to play and had some green eggs and ham for lunch. Aeris wore her new Lorax skirt. I forgot which pattern I used and I’m to lazy to go and look, damn sewing pattern hoarding… but it turned out super cute and she has been wearing the heck out of it!
I should probably insert some Dr Seuss quote, but I’m sure you have read them all today on Facebook.
