you may notice a few familiar faces in this video. My friends are now all reunited with their husbands! Maggie’s husband was the last one to come home, two days after my husband returned. I hope they all get to stay home now for a while.

I am back in town and it’s time to catch up on some blog posts. We went to Utah to visit Cliff’s parents. The kids were spoiled rotten by their grandma. But I will write more about that in another post. This post is long over due. I want to share some pictures that I took of my friend’s daughter, Avery. Avery just turned 1 year old last Sunday. She has been diagnosed with Leukemia. Avery and her family have been living at the hospital for the past few months. They are having a lot of ups and downs and I would like for everyone to send a lot of positive thoughts and energy to this little angel girl! I got to visit her a few weeks ago and took a few pictures of her. She is a true fighter. I am so impressed by what such a little human body can handle. Avery was such a sweetheart when I came to visit and I hope I can come to visit again very soon.

Ever wondered why us Photographers charge such high prices for a print? Now, I don’t think my prices are high.  I know what is happening after a session and therefor I can understand when a photographer is charging $65 for a 5×7 print. I hope one day I will be able to charge such a price. Maybe when we decide to move to LA one day… ha ha

I know that everyone can order a print at Costco for a few cent. Us Photographers use professional printing labs, where each photo is printed and treated with lots of love. Each print is getting the white glove special treatment and will be carefully and individually wrapped.

I wanted to share some before & after pictures. The ‘before’ picture is straight out of my camera (sooc), un-retouched. The ‘after’ picture has gone through a little special treatment in Adobe Lightroom and (or) Adobe Photoshop. This is what we do…

 This photograph of my friend Maggie was taken at the airport when her husband returned from Iraq. I love airport light, I usually don’t have to work with a flash because there is plenty of natural light available from the large windows. But the light is always very blue and there are a lot of reflections going on. On the left you have the ’sooc’ shot. Next to it is the ‘after’ image. Maggie is already super adorable, but a little sharpening is bringing out the best in her.

This is one of my favorite pictures. I love how the wind is blowing her hair into her face. She is just too cute. But it was 20 minutes before sunset and we didn’t have a lot of light left. The picture is a little bit flat and it doesn’t bring out the amazing color of her hair.

 This is a picture of beautiful actress Jill Talley. The cover of huge white clouds created a grey image. I wanted to bring some LA sun and warmth back to the photo.

This is a photo of one of my favorite little models. Again, a very flat and gray day. It was actually raining a little bit! The sooc is already pretty much what I wanted. But a little bit of sharpening and some color magic and it looks even better!
